Monday gave us what may be the last snow fall of the year. Winter is my least favorite season, so normally I can't wait to see it end. But this year, despite my adoration of Spring, I have been reluctant to see the winter go. After the crazy warm weather we saw scattered throughout the past couple of weeks, I was feeling uncharacteristically sad about the coming of a new season. So this beautiful, gentle, brilliant snow was a hugely welcome blessing. :) We celebrated with a hike in the new layers of white in the woods of Frick Park. The forest was quiet, the sun was bright, and the sky was an unbelievable shade of blue. Our steps were some of the first to break the pristine blanket that has fallen upon the park's paths. Blissful.

I don't miss the cold of winter but seeing it through these photos is gorgeous!
It really was beautiful! :)
Pretty snow. It can be dangerous on the roads, but it really is serene, beautiful and special. I know many West Coasters who are a little envious to never see such a sight.

How absolutely and serenely gorgeous. You are feeling the way I was feeling a few weeks ago. I was tired of the cold, but I could have enjoyed one more big snow, though we had our share of many, many inches here in NC this time around. There was talk of a couple inches falling about three weeks, but it never came. And now our daffodil and irises are well out of the ground, and we've had several days of 60+ degrees, so okay, I'm officially ready for spring and for cleaning out the ashes and not using the woodstove again until next November. But who knows? March in NC is often a snowy kind of month.
LOVE your closing shot, too. It gave me a tremendously huge smile after the SIGH of seeing the hiking pics! Love ya, girl!
Wow - absolutely beautiful! :)
Absolutely gorgeous! I loved the snow too except it was soooo heavy to shovel. Your snow angel was especially gorgeous!
Ditto to what Gina said. Beautiful through your lense.
Thanks so much for reading and sharing your comments, everyone! I love that I could share this! :) xoxo
